I talked a little while ago about my tahoe having loose steering. This evening I was checking it out, and found out that when it's sitting still with the wheels pointing straight, that it will bind and will not turn to the left at all unless I'm moving. I was sitting in a parking lot and was gonna check the number of turns that it made from center to each side to see if they were even when I noticed this. I'm thinking that this might play a factor in why it steers like crap.

Any advice on what I can check?

I've noticed mine does that a bit. My steering is ok otherwise. I blame the mud tires

Speaking of mud tires, do you have a lift or any sort of similar modification?

In my auto class several days ago we had a Ford F-150 with the same problem. Turned out to be the tie rod ends were worn out. Check to see if they may be loose also. If that seems fine the only other thing I would know is the power steering gears have gone bad.
