Yesterday I was trying to remove the Fender Flares out of my truck (they are the stock ones it came with the truck) but after removing the screws the flares still wouldn't come off...if I take the off will there be any holes on the body....

I'm planning to lower my truck it's a 96 2DR Chevy Tahoe 4X4 is there a special kit for it.....one of my buddies will charge me $80 to lowered it but I'm not sure about that....

yes, if you remove the screws, there will be holes on every fender. but, with a little bondo and paint, it'll make it look real clean. and with the lowering, that doesnt seem right at all. the question is, is how much do you want to lower it? i just checked at stylintrucks.com, which has about the same price as everywhere else, and for a simple 3/2 drop, your looking at about $175 alone. heres the link to all the drops for your truck:

http://www.stylintrucks.com/parts.a...canned_results_trigger=&selected_prod_ids=825

but, maybe your friend meant was after you buy the parts, he'll install them for $80, instead of paying close to $300 at a shop. have any other questions, just ask. i have a lowered s10, so you know i'm not just blowin smoke up your ass

the fender flares have a metal bracket that runs around the top and sides thats bolted through the body, so you'll have holes in the wheel wells and in the sides on your truck.

yeah lowering a 4x4 isnt a good idea.. if its a drastic lowering kit

not necessarily. i know a few people with dropped 4x4s. as long as it's a good install, he shouldn't run into any problems. plus, if he really wanted to, he could remove his front drive shaft to prevent the vehicle from getting put into 4 wheel drive alltogether

so yeah, you can lower a 4x4 and still keep the functioning 4wd. Honestly if you Independant front suspension you can put it on air ride. Different strokes for different folks i guess. Personally i wouldn't lower a 4wd but you know

I installed the 3/2 loweing kit from belltech on the 99 denali which has 4wd.

I noted no problems or anything weird with the lowering. rides a bit stiffer, but not to the point of being annoying. it looks waay cooler that it did before.

one thing to mention, i didnt use the front torsion keys. they just cranked down enough to get the drop in front. the rear was just new shackles. so yeah, 175$ shackels is what is boils down to....

thing that they say come with the belltech kit were shocks and bump stops, but they were not actualy included. I had to get the nitro drop 2s seperately at about 47$ each if i remember correctly. and the bump stops were 20$.

80$ on the install is about right, cause it took about an hour to slap in.
