1999 Tahoe 4x4 5.7 auto: electronic transfer case selector

I've had my Tahoe now for 2 months+ and have heard a chain type rattle at the end of the transmission pan, next to the transfer case....

Thew tahoe has ran exceptionally well, and there has not been any problems.

Has anyone else had this noise?

I'm going to get some oil and pump as much as possible in the transfer case hoping its just low.

i just replaced the rear transfer case bearing in mine. i was getting a ticking noise and found it to be a bad rear bearing. culd also be the chain in the case itself.

Thanks for the input. I swear its the chain. Sounds loose.

Just got a quote of $5.77 a quart of autotrac 2 tranfer case fluid that exclusively has to go into the transfer case.

I used up about 1/2 a quart of ac delco autotrac 2 tranfer case fluid. The chain is still chattering some at idle.

I'll get some more info on this, hopefully this week. In the meantime, I'll make sure not to launch the tahoe...
