my 99 tahoe spare tire has a lock on it preventing it from being lowered and removed. the ignition key does not fit and i do not have a key for it as iv only had the thing about a month. anyway if its factory i should be able to get one made or something shouldent i? other wise ill have to drill it out or call a locksmith i guess but i have never seen a lock on an underslung spare tire. really, it quite possily he most stupid thing i have ever seen. on the highway, 3 am, need to change your tire and oh wait, first i have to lay on my back in the dark with my cell phone light to fumble around and unlock the spare before lowering it. sorry but that is not smart imo
