I have an '07 Tahoe Z71 and will be getting an exhaust system put in pretty soon. I already decided on going with Flowmaster but was wondering if I should get a True Dual System or a Dualed Out System. Any input or experience with either of these systems would be greatly appreciated.

I would like to know more as well....I read through some of the past posts and I couldn't get definitive answer on this on most of the other posts. Ppl that have gotten it love it, but that really doesn't tell me much.
Also, how much lower gas mileage do you receive? Significant?

These 5.3 V8s don't have crazy displacement, so the backpressure you would lose with true duals would hurt your low end power noticeably. Put simply, true duals= more pipe= more flow (which takes away backpressure). We need at least some backpressure on our trucks to maintain low-end torque, and a single muffler setup will keep it. The bottom line is, if you want dual exit, single in/dual out is the way to go on these trucks. True duals will be louder, yes, but you will lose power and its more expensive for a) another muffler and b)pipe and labor to make it.

Thank you for that explanation porkanbeans. This is my first truck and I come from coupes and sports cars so I really needed to know that.

no problem man, glad i could help. and blackpearl, i had a flowmaster 50 series SUV catback on my old '03 Tahoe, it was single in/dual out, and i liked it. i didn't notice a power or mileage difference, but the sound was nice, just a tad louder than stock.

true duals have a distinct different sound and if you know how to do some yourself its not very expensive to do at all. personaly i love the sound of true duals i run them on both my 3rd gen trans ams and im going to run true duals on my 03 yukon xl its getting longtubes no cats nelson tune has an intake and ill be running manderal bent 2 1/2 pipes into trush super turbo mufflers nice deep sound not too loud and with a good tune you shouldnt notice i big loss of power down low. oh and my 82 t/a is running 2 1/2 true duals with a mildly built 305 (5.0) and from a standstill all the way to 7k it pullshard with tru duals

I have true duals on my 68 camaro. 3in with flowmasters that turn down after the muffler before the rear end. Sounds good to me but with turn downs like this they kick up any and all dust around..

Wouldn't hurt to check out Magnaflows as they have some really nice quality exhaust systems as well.
