I thought there'd be more than one muffler that could be used. I hate to get one that's not the same as what you described as may be louder or drone. Like Flowmaster has several different series and each is a different loudness.

Maybe your P/N is on your receipt.

Alright this is what I could find, I got the 5x11x22 muffler with dual in single out, using stock pipes. Hope that helps, sorry no part number. :Chevy:

I just had a CAI and a "touring" exhaust put on a 08 Tahoe. I haven't had it long enough to compare gas mileage but the sound and increased throttle response was just what I was looking for. The sound is unchanged at 1/8th throttle off the line. At 1/4 throttle I can hear the difference but it is a throaty powerfull growl that is just noticeable. When you get past 1/2 throttle people know you are there and it sounds very good.

At highway speeds 75 to 80+ you again cannot hear it until you load the engine. With the cruise set at 78 mph there is no more cabin drone than stock. I selected this intake and exhaust because they are GM parts and I don't want to have any issues with Warranty.

FYI: the Borla mufflers used in the GM catbacks are packed with st-st wool and the tone will change with age. My GM Perf. exh. sounded great for the first 1K mi and then developed a drone at 45-55 mph under no load conditions. Thought about switching to the Touring muffler but Borla won't sell it separately.

Thanks for the info. Are you sure about the dual in part cuz your picture looks like a single pipe coming from the cat?

I won't be happy if I end up with a drone but the parts guy told me that the performance muffler sound will increase with mileage and the touring muffler won't increase. I guess I will have to wait and find out.

All mufflers have a fiber on the inside..that ones it burns in full the muffler will be louder.

The Volant CAI is slightly louder than the OEM intake. Its noticed when you rev the engine a bit. You will be stremely happy with your Volant. Its the best intake. Get the Powercore filter edition. The 44 series flowmaster is load so i dontthink you will have a problem with noise by adding the intake.

Of course "loud" is a subjective term; but as mentioned by riverst, you are already sporting one of the louder exhausts out there in the 44. So if the exhaust noise isn't bothersome to you, I doubt the Volant will be bothersome.

magnaflow

i just got a magnaflow cat-back on mine. it's a dual outlet on the right side only. My tahoe came with single piping out each side, but i didn't really like it. The magnaflow exhaust isn't very noticable to me, but the guy told me it would get louder over time.

BUT... the real problem is i didn't order this exhaust at all. :mad3:

I was very specific and ordered the Borla single side dual outlet exhaust. The dealer ordered the wrong system and even put it on there. I'm not a very happy camper, because i hate the look of this system. I'll try to post some pictures of it for you guys.

Are you unhappy with the Magnaflow or the Borla? Post pics when you can.

the magnaflow is installed now. not what i had planned...
it doesn't even look like it fits right. actually, i cant even find
a picture of a dual outlet single side magnaflow anywhere which
makes me even more suspicious.

Well the guy that messed this deal up is going to get an
earfull from me, and hopefully i'll be swapping it out for a new
Borla exhaust soon. I KNOW the Borla looks good and i've heard one
in person too. That Corsa Sport seems to be a great choice as well...
But this magnaflow is going in the trash.

Hi. I have sold the Borla, Corsa, & Magnaflow. They all fit perfectly on trucks we have installed them on, I would check pipe alignment or maybe you got a defective Magnaflow kit... I am very impressed with the Magnaflow kit for the pricing. Let me know if you need to order anything, just shoot me an email.
