Exaust Question

I was looking at getting a magna flow muffler. upon looking at the exaust system I got a little confused.
From the cat to the muffler is single pipe, comming out of the muffler is two pipes which then wye back to a single. WTF,
Is this some stupid OEM setup, or did someone get this replaced with spare parts? Can I go with a magnaflow single in / single out???

yea it is single in/out. Go to performancepeddler.com, I got my magnaflow full setup real cheap on there. Its a drop in kit, no cutting or welding involved (besides a hanger)
