Is there a way to reset the odometer back to 00000000 miles or know someone that does it??

Or maybe set it to 114000, for when mine gets to 114000 i can change it

Yeah, I thought that was stored in the BCM (body control module), which I believe is VIN-locked, and only a dealer service center can program it with codes they get straight from GM. No?

I bought one already from EBAY, but it has 42XXX something miles, but mine is at 113,6xx something. I would like to zero the escalade one or put it at 114000. So i have an idea how many miles my truck has. if i can zero it, i'll be putting the escalade one on, when mine get to 114,000. then all i have to do is add whatever miles i put on the new one and add it to the 114000.
Or much easier if they can put it to 114000, then i wouldn't have to be adding anything

at the dealership they need to get your car in there diagnose why it needs a cluster, (usually hold it there over night or until the cluster comes in and give you a rental car) let GM know how many miles on the car currently and explain why the cluster was replaced, they will then program a new cluster and send it out and you will be required to send out the old cluster with the same miles on it that you had them program the new one to.

very strict on this to avoid odometers being "rolled back"

Clusters do not come preset anymore, the dealer ship can hook your car up to the GM software website / computer and program the cluster. However if it is not the right part number for the vehicle it probably will not program.

on these GM the milage is stored in the actual cluster. JP customs does it when you order a set of guages from them, they program for like an extra 100. at least thats what it said in Truckin mag:)

i dont know where you got that info from, but its not true i work at a chevy dealership, we deal with a ton of clusters
and they all come programmed already

its too big of a risk to have every dealer ship out there having a programmer, whats to stop them from rolling back the employees cars miles, or worse yet, used cars that many of us on here have bought?
