Engine Corrosion

Hi Folks,

I need some advise from all of my obsesive compulsive friends on the Forum

I just bought a new Yukon Denali with 2000 miles on it. The L92 engine typically gets covered with white powdery corrosion and the Power Steering Pump resevoir rusts and corrods badly. MY question is what is the best way to prevent this from happening?? My engine is already starting to corrode. I tried spraying it with LPS1. It looked good initially but as soon as the solvents evaporate the engine looks the same.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Do you live near the ocean? Not sure where the white corrosion is coming from. About all I have to do is hose the engine compartment down once a year. No serious rusting or oil seepage yet. Almost three years old.

I live just south of Pittsburgh - Nowhere near the ocean.

I notice that the fender skirts don't come down far enough to block the water and splashback from the front tires. Unless there is a mod for this problem I will be working on a fix for my vehicle.

I gave the corroded areas a mist of LPS 2 and it looks like new. We'll see how it holds up.
