Engine starting

So I ran my battery down. When attempting to jump, I was not getting good connection. So I adjust my cables and the lights start flashing, engine turns over and gauges go crazy. And the keys were in my pocket. Any ideas?

Disconnect the battery cables, wait 10-15 minutes, reinstall cables making sure they are clean and tight and try to jump start again. There may be fuse link damage down near the starter solenoid. Could be melted and need replaced before will start if does not start after what I suggested.

Ok thanks. This thing has been messing with me pretty bad. It only gets fuel when it wants to. Pump kicks on. Filter is new. i get fuel at the filter. Something is stopping it from going to throttle body. Hit it with ether and it fires up. Any ideas? No check engine light.
