Does anyone notice their engine on the 2007 Tahoe revving when first starting vehicle for a period of time even with AC off? RPM's are fine, etc.

Is this a common thing then? It sounds like it's coming from under the hood, would that be correct? My sister also has a 2007 Tahoe and just noticed it, but she also incurred $14k worth of damage in an accident and they basically rebuilt the car, new frame, etc instead of replacing (insurance companies for you) and she thought this might have been a result of that until I told her mine does the same thing. It seems like I didn't notice it until about a month ago and I've had the truck for 7 months.

As I was eluding to above, if you have had your truck less than a year and you just noticed a noise within the last month or so (it is almost summer now) it is most likely that your truck has never been hot enough for it to need to turn the electric fan on. And yes it has a similar sound to the engine at a higher rpm range.

With my limited knowledge of vehicles when the engine sounded like it was racing I looked at my gauges and all seemed fine....within their normal ranges.
