Engine Knock

I hear engine knocking from a cold start through 1-3 gears, then it appears to go away when I come to a complete stop and drive again. I can't quite pin this one out.

It's an 2001 5.3 L

Unfortunately not much you can do about it. I sucked about ½ a can of seafoam from the vacuum line on the brake booster. Let that sit for about an hour then run it out and watch it smoke like crazy for a bit. That has quieted mine down but I hear it doesn’t last….

Yea, you'll find that almost everyone who owns one of these engines has that problem. AFAIK, it does not hinder performance. These engines are otherwise bulletproof, so I would assume, you're good to go.
