I have a '99 tahoe LT 4x4. I'm setting up my truck to tow a travel trailer. I need to know how to hook up the electronic brake controller and what wiring I would need to get to do so. Also, any recommendations on a brand of electronic brake controller.

I recommend the Tekonsha controller, mainly because I have had one in each of my trucks and never had an issue with them. Check the link below for a pretty good installation write up with troubleshooting tips, etc.

Did it come with the wiring kit when you bought it? The link doesn't really tell ya about where it wires and all that good stuff, I know that there is a convenience center under my emergency brake, and that it wires up to it, just curious as to how I'll go about hooking it up, I'm a DIY'er and don't wanna pay $150 for someone to hook it up.

Yes, those I bought were the Voyager and it came with the harness to wire it up.
