I recently bought an 02 Z71 with 120K on it.
The problem that I have is that at idle, it seems to stumble every few seconds or so and when it does I notice the oil gauge fluctuates too. This wasn't an important issue until yesterday when I was driving. After about 1 hour of mostly interstate driving I was turning a corner on a back road and the car just died. I coasted into a gas station and after about 30 seconds I tried to start the car and it started fine no issues. I drove back another hour to my house with no issues. I took it to the local auto parts store and they did the diagnostic of the battery, alternator and starter and all turned out fine. The only thing we noticed was that the positive terminal cable was too hot to touch. So today I went out to the truck turned on the car and went and felt the cable again. After just seconds the cable was too hot to touch. Anybody have ideas on what to check?
