Hi all. New here. I have a 2003 Tahoe with the 5.3. She only has 40K miles on her. Drove the truck yesterday and no problems. Get in today and no lights, nothing. It acts like it has no battery in it at all. Took the battery to the shop and it tested good. Put it back in the truck and nothing. Any Ideas on where to start looking? Wish i could afford to get it towed to the shop. Thanks in advance.

Check the underhood fuse box. You have a multi-meter? Start at the battey and trace the hot wires to the fuse box and the jump start box on th side on the engine. Then go from there.

Check the ignition switch. You should have powe to the starter solenoid on the purple wire in the start position.

wont help much but

im overseas and my wife called and gave me the same description as yours. she comes out of school and the fob wont open door locks. she uses the key to manually open the door and no interior lights, nothing, no start, stone dead!. it has a brand new battery. the tow truck comes and loads it on a flatbed, takes it three miles to a shop and when he gets in to unload it everything is back to normal? he starts it?. the mech told her all he could find was a loose battery cable. when i get back home i will look at the wiring diagram and figuer it out once and for all. i have only had this 03 with 65k miles for about 7 months and knew these vehicles were known for some electrical gremlins.:happy160:

first it is a very good vehicle that craps in the driveway and not in the fast lane or a parking lot!. do you have a multi meter?, this is a great chance to find somthing wrong and tell us what it was. a seven dollar 12v test lt will also trace the circuit. let us know!

I found my problem. The green and white wire from the IP Relay center to the instrument cluster was broken behind the cluster. Repaired that and speedo works now.
