yep. yank the electrical connector, take out the two bolts at the flange of the EGR valve, take off the gasket (replace it), clean the surface and put on your new one. with mine, it made it a lot easier to take the air filter housing off (TBI motor)

true too, theres a trouble tree to test the soleniod. a lot of times its either the solenoid or a sticky valve that just needs to be cleaned out.

has this code just started since its been cold?? i had one a few years back only throw a code in the winter time. problem was that a little moisture got onto the valve, and overnight it froze and didnt allow it to move! if youve cleaned your EGR out, id just go ahead and replace it.

nice... my next 'service' was to do was to clean out my EGR... I just wanted to pick up a new gasket from the dealer before I removed it.

I dont have a code, but wanted to clean out the unit as a preventative maintenance.
Anyone of you clean your EGR's before?

yep. can of EGR cleaner. smells just like carb/choke cleaner. let it set. move the valve manually with your hands and throw it back in.
