Well, I got my Edge Evolution (EEC2200) today, and tried it out this evening when I got home from vacation.

And, yep, the "pod" is the wrong one; Yukons require the "Dash B" pod, and I've requested they send me one...

SO.... Very cool product so far; nice interface, cool concept. I installed the software, updated it, updated the firmware on the programmer itself to the latest beta available (f/w 2.50.3363, calibration 1.0.3514), and unfortunately Edge seems to be missing an ECM code my truck's computer needs: 12614194.

I've uploaded the ECM file via the update manager to Edge (it happens automatically upon re-connection).

Now what? Is this an automatic thing, waiting for them to add this code to the calibration files, or will I be waiting for a while?

Hey Pete -

Sorry, should have mentioned the pod. I realized it came with the truck pod, but completely forgot about it as I didn't use the pod....I don't think my wife would take to that too well in 'her' daily driver. :)

If you uploaded the codes you should be good to go. If I remember right Edge releases updates everything Wednesday. So next Wednesday evening you should be able to hook the programmer up again, download the new update, and away you go. If it were me however, I would call to verify they received your files, and that they'll be included in the next update.

You're going to love the programmer. It's a completely different animal!

ECM file update

Thanks for the info Travis -- I will just call them Monday during the day and tell them my ECM codes, and hopefully they can get the code(s) entered into the calibration file-set by Wednesday's update. I can't wait to try this thing out...

Thanks buddy!

Evolution - Killer!!!

Well, I got my Evolution working this afternoon after Edge Tech support updated the calibration files. The "Extreme" tune is killer! I went to gas it up after dropping the kids off at the house from the playground, and when I got back, they all asked my why I was so angry. I was like "What?!? Angry?!?" They thought I was mad at them or something because I gunned it when I left, and it was all "VROOOOOOM" and they heard it all the way inside the house!

Anyway, in the 8 mile round trip (city), I averaged 15MPG, and that was NOT taking it easy on the throttle. I'll post some more on how things go w/r/t mileage and performance.

The one important question I have is this: When I go to "Power Programming", then choose "Extreme", according to the manual I'm supposed to get an option to create a custom program to modify things like tire size, speed limiting, etc. I NEVER see this option. What am I doing wrong? Why don't I see this, and how do I "enable" this functionality? I'm gonna call Edge again tomorrow when I get a minute, but if you've got any quick ideas, lemme know.

Answered my own question I think...

With regard to "Custom Tune" options on 2007+ Yukon XL Denali w/ 6.2L and 6-speed, Edge Tech support indicates they cannot yet fully program the transmission control module, but they expect to be able to in the near future. The guy didn't know when that'd be, but I suspect that'll be around the time they figure out the torque management stuff as well... Oh well, I'll just keep trying the updates as they come out!

Hey Pete -

That's right, the 6 spd tranny isn't supported yet....so the 'custom' tune, tire size adjustments, etc. are not currently available.... Guess that's the try we pay for being early adopters!

Any updates guys? I just upgraded from a '07 Yukon XL to a '07 Yukon XL Denali last week and I am curious about the Edge. I currently have the Superchips Flashpaq that I took off the Yukon, but Edge seems to claim more horsepower. I know the Superchips is good for 20 HP, but I hear the Edge is good for 40HP. Seems odd?? Especially since the 2 companies are affiliated.
Anyway, any updates you can give positive or negative, power, economy,
ect, ect would be appreciated.
