E85?

I have an '03 Tahoe with the "Z" in the VIN. I have over 150k miles and have never used E85. The new Speedway that opened down the street has E85 for like $1 less a gallon. Should I give it a try? Any thoughts or experience?

I have an 03 Z71 Tahoe with Z engine as well. I ran E85 through it about 5 years ago it was 3 tanks worth. The engine ran smoother, had more power, but fuel mileage dropped from 16-17 combined to 8-9 combined on the first tank, the second was better but was only 11 mpg, and the third was 12mpg combined. I have heard it takes 2 or more tanks for the computer to fully adjust but there will still be a loss in mpg. My biggest thing is the only E85 station close to me was 40 mins away from my house so it was counter productive at best. And now around here E85 is close to the same as regular 87 fuel anyway so unless it was only a 1-2 mpg loss max its not worth the litte savings achieved.
