Door lock

Just brought a new to me 04 Tahoe, and someone might have already had this issue and can give me some good feed back. The key starts the truck but doesn't work in the lock on the door it won't turn to unlock door or the barn door, fob works but if battery dies or fob stops working I'm sol

Apparently they changed the ignition lock and didn't match the others.

Sounds like it, usually a locksmith can alter one or the other for ya....
