Alright, I browsed the forums for door lock issues. None of them really addressed my concern. I have a 95 tahoe, apparently it was in some kind of accident before I bought it. Anyway, the drivers side door is not the original door (colors match perfectly though! lucky me!). The problem I have is that the drivers side door lock doesn't match the ignition, or passenger door. Instead of trying to deal with changing them all out to match. I was considering taking my door lock off, dissassembling the whole thing, and reaming out all the high spots in the lock it self. I mean, presumably thats all I would have to do to get, for example: any 94-99 chevy key to unlock this door. I mean, sharing this kind of information is kind of stupid on my part. Not that I think anyone on here really knows who or where I am.. Just curious if anyone has had the same idea, or thought about this????

Sounds like someone put another ing lock and tumbler in and lost the door keys. You can take apart the door lock cyl and take the "pins out" and use any gm key.

Ahh, thats right along the lines of what I was thinking. I didn't know they were removable. Thanks!

Could take the cylinder out and get a locksmith to make you a key for a couple bones....

My locksmith will re-key a door lock to fit the ignition key (as long as it's the same blank) for 10.00 if I hand him the lock and key. It's a matter of taking out the tumblers and re-installing them it the proper sequence for the key you want to use. I've always wanted to learn to do this but never tried. I'd just as soon support a local business that's part of a dying industry. Al
