Im trying to figure out how to dim the interior dash lights dimmer than go now. My wife has the '07 Yukon and it only goes so dim. I have a '06 Hummer H2 and I can turn off the dash lights. Didnt know if there is something to do to dimming knob to make it dim further. We got limo tinted windows on the Yukon and the dash almost reflect on the inside with them dimmed on the way. Any Suggestions?

I'll start by saying that I'm an older guy and my headlights are getting dimmer as I get older but I'm thinking that a dark dash would be somewhat of a safety hazard since you may not be able to tell how fast you are going or what setting you put your transmission into. Are you not concerned about those things? I've got limo tint on my front side windows too but I'd rather be safe than cool. Just my opinion - for what it's worth. Hope you find a solution.

Its the little knob between the headlight switch and the 2wd 4x4 switch. Just push it in and it will pop out and you can turn it to dim your dash lights or to make them bright.

Just a guess but you could replace that switch with another one. Not totally sure how it is controlled but must are just a reostat (sp) that controls the amount of voltage to the lights in the dash.

yea, trying to figure that out....there has to be something differerent with my truck's and her truck's switch.....mine gets just as bright and but goes all the way off. So thinkin' there be a limiter to how far it can be turned or something like that....still hunting to figure it out.

I think (if it is a dial) there might be a stop inside the switch to keep from dimming too far. If you could crack it open without damaging it you might be able to remove that stop. Unfortunately I have a 2004 so I might not know what I am talking about here, lol.

That's one of the things I hate about the tahoe, not being able to dim the dashlight any further. I do a lot of night driving ( 200+ miles) and I always turn it down as low as I can (06 and earlier tahoes). I'm more concerned with hitting a cow (open range) than my speed (cruise control!)
