My 2004 tahoe came with 265/70 17's, Yokohama Geolanders. They are beginning to wear and I am shopping for tires. My neighbor offered me some slightly used ones-255/75 17's, Bridgestone Duelers. Will the change in tire size affect the speedometer or anything else?
Thanks.

Welcome to the neighborhood!

Yes, the 255 is a smaller tire so the effect will be that when your speedo shows you doing 55 you will actually be a little closer to 50, but that is about the only change that should happen.

actually there is almost no difference in overall height, per tire rack it is only .3 tenths smaller because going from a 70 aspect ratio to a 75 your old tires will have a wider tread.. the newer ones will have a narrower foot print.. look on tire rack and search the size and click specs..
you will feel like it has a little more power because your overall ratio will change but with .3 tenths you are talking about very little difference.
