Cruise control doesn't work

Anyone have this problem before and find a quick fix? I have a 2001 Tahoe and my cruise control went out. What I think it is from is my tilt steering wheel. I tilt my steering wheel everytime I get in and out. The reason I think it is this is because sometimes my cruise will work and it seems to work most often if I don't tilt my steering wheel down. Is it tough to find the wires and fix them? I am thinking some of them are worn due to my tilting of the steering wheel.

I have not seen any wiring problems with this but I would guess the turn signal/cruise control stalk/lever is bad. I had the same problem in my 2000 and noticed once jiggling the stalk the cruise would either work or not work intermittently.
