I am trying, but the 0% keeps whispering in my ear!

I think the 0% is gone this month, when I checked yesterday it was somewhere around 3 or 4%, I think. That should make your decision easier, in a sucky kind of way... :(

I think RT means captains in the 2nd row, and 2 passenger bench in the 3rd row, such as has been currently offered. He's right, it does look premium when it's set up that way, and even though I bashed it I was tempted to do that. But giving up a seat in row 2 made me keep the middle seat in the 3rd row, because I might need 7 sometimes.

no actully i mean the 2 pasenger third row. looks even nicer and more usuable. its impossable to squish three people i the 3 person third row on a GMT900.

That's what I mean too, I said 2 passenger bench but I think your right it is not so much a bench as it is 2 buckets. 6 passengers, 2 in each row. And you're probably right that it's too cramped to be practical for 3 adults back there, I can hear the bitching now, even as I sit in luxury up front.:D
But I do have kids involved, my only concern now is that it is safe back there in a rear end crash. I've been trying to find statistics and reports on that, and all I've found is that there should be at least a foot from to seat back to the window (which I think there is), and that the seat back doesn't fail and break under the force, which I don't think it will from the weight of a child. But the thought of another vehicle indenting the back of the truck still scares me. Any opinions, fellas?

That setup does look the best, though, hands down.

well since i have an xl i figure theres plenty of steel back there to protect them, but on a reg yukon or tahoe i would kinda worry, but there's airbags back there so i dont worry much.

I'll see if putting off the 08’ for a 09’ Z71 was a good decision; time will only tell.

2 way advanced remote
I hope this is true. I had an after market 2-way remote starter installed in my wife’s 06’ Murano installed and it works great. She works about three blocks away from where she parks and it reaches it. I don’t expect the factory remote to reach that far, but more than 200 feet would be nice.

I'm counting on the third row seating to still be an option, because I don’t want it. No one really sits in my second row so I have no use for a third row.

Replacing the LT3 package with the Luxury package doesn’t make much sense but that Chevrolet.

Side blind zone alert
This is a safety device and should be on all models.

-DRC: inside rearview mirror with rear camera display
Need to see, but sounds cool.

-KB6: heated and cooled front row seats (standard and only available on LTZ models)
Chevrolet wants to sell Tahoe’s and make money but limits you when buying one. I guess I won’t be ordering cool seats on my Z71.

I will be down right pissed if I HAVE to get 2nd row bucket seats
Me too!

-Z71 package:
Door handles and mirror caps will be body colored and grille inserts will be bright chrome.
Good less chrome!

I hope Z71’s get a choice of rims and are not stuck with only one style to pick from.

A few new interior and exterior colors, a few new wheels
Did they say what new exterior colors and are any offered on Z71’s.?

-80U: red jewl tintcoat exterior color (LTZ only)
-46U: blue granite metallic exterior color
Blue Granite isn’t new.

L9H 6.2L V8 (available on 2wd and 4wd)
Maybe, not sure I need

-MYC: 6 speed AT transmission
YES!

Any idea when dealers might start taking orders? I talked to a dealer Tuesday and he couldn’t say, he said there is a strike going on and if it keeps up it might interfere with 09’ production.

Thank you for the update.

to try to answer a few of JLCVT's questions:

Side blind zone safety: I agree 100% with you and I hope it is at least an option on the z71 that I will be ordering.

I can live without cooled seats I suppose. As long as they are heated!!

It didnt say anything about new colors for Z71. The only mention of exterior color was the blue granite and whatever that red is offered on LTZ only.

I would imagine the American Axle strike will indeed have an effect on the tahoe's (this is all from what I've heard, I dont have any concrete info on this). The strike is already effecting production of some Pontiac passenger cars and the new Malibu's (which i think are pretty sweeet!! and im not much of GM CAR guy :mpr: ). If they dont figure their stuff out pretty quickly Id be willing to bet that it will hinder Tahoe production (if not already), and at the very least reduce GM's willingness to give out rebates and discounts.

As for ordering no one has any concrete info on this yet either. The dealer has been told by GM to tentatively expect:
- ordering for 08's to be discontinued march 31
- production of 08 to cease a few weeks after march 31
- ordering information and the ability to take orders should be up sometime late april or very early may.
- production for 09 should hopefully start sometime in early june. Those with the first orders placed will be built first, and SHOULD be able to expect delivery sometime around mid-late june or early july. This sounds like a "best case" scenario to me, and with the economy, GM's current situation, and all the labor issues going on, I'd expect everything to take a little longer than that

I want this thread to keep going, it's good. What about the XM- first, if it goes to Sirius, shouldn't they be using Sirius on 09s? And with the live traffic, can we add this somehow, or does it require a whole new head unit? I could really use that feature here in L.A.

This would be a cool option. :cool2:

2-Way Advanced Remote Start System

GM Accessories takes the vehicle remote start system to the next level with its 2-Way Advanced Remote Start System, which boosts both range and functionality compared to other remote start systems.

GM is the first automaker to offer an LCD two-way remote start accessory. GM Accessories’ new 2-Way Advanced Remote Start System actually communicates important information about certain vehicle systems via a small LCD screen on the key fob. Users can see if the doors are locked or unlocked; determine whether the engine is running and see how much time is left before the vehicle will automatically shut off; check security status; find out current odometer mileage; see remaining fuel; check tire pressures in all four tires; and change radio station pre-sets.

Typical remote start systems work at distances of between two to three times the range of a factory-installed remote keyless entry system. GM’s 2-Way Advanced Remote Start System is designed to function at ranges of up to four to six times the typical keyless entry system, enabling users to start their vehicles from much greater distances.

The system will be available in the second quarter of 2007 on certain GM vehicles. Pricing for the system will range from under $150 MSRP up to $250 MSRP, depending on the vehicle’s factory options, plus dealer installation.

Yeah really, I would think that dangling a carrot in front of our noses would not help current model sales OR the next years sales, right? In other words, I might put off an '08 purchase and then not make an '09 purchase because that option is not there then either. It can only hurt them, idiots.

I agree!!! I have the parts manager looking about once every two weeks to see if the part number pops up to order one for me but it is still a NO SHOW!!
They have it listed as a 2008 first quarter add for the Malibu but that hasn't happened

Not me and I'm probably looking the hardest of the bunch.....

I just ordered my 2009 Denali (fully loaded) last week with the assumption that the prices will not go up much (hopefully down - yeah right  ).

My order does not have a build date or pricing information on it yet. I've been bugging the heck out of my dealer too. (I warned him I'd be bugging him often ahead of time. I suppose that doesn't make it any better though.)

I'll let the group know when I get a build date and soe $$$ information.

On all the 3rd row seats nonsense...

I wouldn't care if it had a third row or not. Because if you keep them in the truck you'll get jacked anyway like I did on my 02 :(

I with the rest of you guys! I'm checking the Chevy website almost daily to see if they have updated the site for 2009 information. I even stop by the dealers every couple weeks to see if any have any information or ordering information. I'm ready to buy, just waiting on chevy. Tick..... Tick.... Tick.......
