I just bought a 95 Tahoe and the CE light comes on intermittently. My local auto parts stores say they can only scan vehicles from '96 and up. What can I get that's cheap that will allow me to see what the CE light is for?

you don't need to buy one.

just use a wire to jump across a/b on the plug under the steering wheel below

the dash. turn key on in the run position(but don't start the truck) then the c.e.l will flash you have to count the flashes example (flash, flash pause flash, flash, flash)

it will repeat the trouble code . the example will be 23 in the code book if you

count the flashes i have a book with codes let me know and i will look it up. or go to the

library to find it to. good luck

I was out there today putting in a stereo. I looked at the plug but there looks to be 4 contacts (maybe more). Which would I be jumping if I followed your example above? What I mean is; which ones are "a" and "b"? Are those the first two?

i believe 13 is ground.. so when you first turn the key on with the paperclip in the computer plug. your going to see the light blink once then 3 real fast ones. that means 13 which again is ground, itll do that i think 3 times. after that then itll start to read the codes out to you. make sure to get a pen and paper ready and count those blinks..
