Clunking/Play In Steering-Suspension

Sure sounds like the same thing (Dull clunk) from what your saying; mostly heard from the upper left steering area. If not that, you could have a ball jount problem.
(Try the quick fix first to see if the clunk go's away)

Has GM redesigned the steering shaft in the newer Tahoes to fix this problem? I had a 2003 Suburban with the problem. I like the look of the new Tahoes but I do not want to experience that steering clunking noise again. It was very annoying.
