I have an '04 Tahoe and the dual climate temperature control dials won't go up and down correctly. I have read lots of posts about blend doors, but can't find anything related to the dials.
When I purchased it a year ago, they seemed to work fine, and they appear to work better when the weather is warmer.
I can't the temperature to adjust upward for heat.
Sometimes if I move the dials REAL SLOW, one click at a time, I can eventually get them up in the heat range.
Any ideas???

Have you recently, before problem, unhooked your battery? If so that could explain the problem. Might have to reset the BCM because of that.

I haven't unhooked the battery since I got it. But I'll look into resetting the BCM. Thanks for the idea.

Well the dials control the blend doors so need to make sure that the doors are moving freely. As I said, the BCM reprogram may fix all of it or may have a BCM going bad. No codes?

I have the same problem on a 2004 Tahoe. No codes at all. I changed out the blend actuator and that fixed one of the issues bigger issues (blowing hot when a/c was on), but I also cant seem to dial in the temperature on some occasions. The problem comes and goes. Anyone have any luck with this one?

cal_z71 can you give me some more info on changing out the blend actuator? Like the part number(s) you used and maybe a reference as to where that part is located. I've got the same issue with my AC Control Module occasionally being goofy and not being able to adjust the temp easily. I was thinking I was needing to replace the AC Control Module but if I can get away with just replacing an actuator I'm thinking that might be cheaper and I hope easier. I don't have any codes coming up on mine and when I took it to a mechanic and he put it on the computer he didn't have any codes come up and then he pulled one of the fuses under the hood and tried to reset the computer but that didn't fix the issue either. I'm in Alabama and it's getting hot and I'd really like to get this fixed before I suffocate.
