Check Engine Light - Remote Starter

My check engine light came on Saturday and my remote starter stopped working too. The starter would cause the lights, etc. to blink but not actually start my 2008 Tahoe. How can I resolve the (factory) remote starter problem? Also, could the remote starter issue cause the engine light to come on?

The remote start feature is disabled when you have a standing check engine light. You will need to repair the issue that is causing the check engine light. Most auto parts chain stores will read the check engine light code for you for free.
