Been doing a good bit of shopping and with GMAC's 0% Financing thought now would be a good time to buy. Has anyone heard of any changes (cosmetic, mechanical, etc) that would make the 08's more attractive even at a premium?

Thanks.

Not much changes. For the 08 'burb you can order the 6 speed even on half ton.

Just went with an 07 Yukon XL Denali with the 6 speed. Just learned herewith that there is a difference between 4WD and AWD. Ever thought this is the same thing.

All Wheel Drive basically has a differential between the front and back where part time or 4x4 is locked front and back and side to side in the front (on some trucks). If you were to use part time four wheel drive on surface streets it would bind the gears and possibly damage your drive line. If the road is slippery (really wet, snow, sand) then the tires would slip and the gears would not bind, but if they all have solid traction then that is where the differential is needed to allow some slipping in the drive line. Hence AWD...

I wonder why the hp numer is a bit les where torque is the same.

Also please don't go for the 2008 hybrids. I am more than sure that some flaws have to be corrected for the 09 models. Having said that I still wonder why the 07 rigs have been flawless. GM must have done a great job here. That's why I bought a second 07.

Also, people need to realize that AWD will not take you where 4wd can. The power is not transferred among the wheels in the same way. AWD is great for rain and light snow, anything else is a gamble.

JimJoe... I had someone tell me the same thing just yesterday. I appreciate your feed back. That's why I have my eye on that new Sierra GMC Denali Truck 07... its just beautiful. I hope GM can boost more HP on the Chevy Tahoe soon but a truck with 400HP now that's though...

You're welcome. If you check the hundreds of reviews out there I can hardly find any one which is totally negative complaining about the truck falling apart or such.

The only issue on the complaints is fuel economy. I wonder if there is such a large spread or if it is just driving habits. With my Chrysler Town & Country Diesel I know someone getting 17 MPG whereas I get 39. For the 'burb I get 18 to 19 mixed. My fingers are crossed to see what mpg I get with the Denali.

Regarding hp I think that over 300 hp is just fine with my Suburban and should be even so with the Tahoes. My F-250 Diesel has more than 450 but that's a truck, though.

GMC Sierra Denali w/ 400HP 14city -20hwy that's impressive:thumbsup: . Tahoes 16city-22hwy can't get any better than that :Chevy:

One thing I notice as I was reviewing some of the specifications between these two great vehicles

Yukon Denali 07
5610lbs curb weight
380HP 415TQ
0-60mph 6.2sec

GMC Denali Sierra 07
5309lbs curb weight
400HP 417TQ
0-60mph 6.5sec

My theory is shouldn't the GMC Truck be faster due to the fact its 300lbs lighter than the Yukon Denali and plus the truck has 20 more HP???

Sometimes I wonder Edmunds, Car and Driver, Motortrend, have their own sources and most of the time not accurate.
