Center console insert removal.....

I want to remove the tray insert in the center console to utilize the area (if there is any) beneath it. Has anyone removed it, and if so, how? Thanks.

Pretty easy, I used a couple of 1 1/2" wide plastic drywall putty knives available at any home improvement store (Home Depot). Start at the left or right rear corner just forward of the corner and carefully insert one, then the other one directly above or below the other one, then take a large screwdriver and insert that between them and twist it, it will pop up. Lift up from the rear and pull backwards as it has two tabs on the front edge.
