Just made the drive from Greenville, SC back home to Birmingham, AL (about 4 hours) going between 70 and 75 the whole way in my '04 Tahoe LT (40k miles) and averaged 20.7 MPG, which topped my personal best of 19.2. I didn't believe it at first, but I filled it up when I got home and it was accurate. No mods or anything, everything is factory. Can anybody beat this??? I'm still amazed, my wife was following me in her '07 and averaged 19.6.

Well, come on now, it's all downhill from Greenville to Birmingham, right?!? :smilielol:

Seriously, tho, that's really good mileage. If I got 18 on the highway, I'd be all "WOO HOO!!"

Haha, hell, I thought it was all flat! Either way I thought it was pretty good, I got something around 19 going to Greenville but I was going a little faster, too.

Yeah, the weight (or lack of) could have contributed to mine, too. My Tahoe was literally empty. All of the luggage, my wife, and my 19 year old son and 16 year old daughter were in my wifes Tahoe.

I've never seen 20 not even on my old 06 with 22's. If I was lucky I got about 17. Now with my 07 I get about 13 maybe 14 downhill. :ack:

You're way up there in Alabama then! We live in Mountain Brook but have a second home out on the lake Wedowee, near Anniston. Nice to see that there are more alabamians on the board. Must be damn cold up there in Decatur tonight, we're feeling way down south here in Wedowee :ack: .
