bumpers

I have a 06 tahoe LT and i do not like the chrome bumpers front and rear...

i have been searching through old posts and ebay and i want to find paintable bumpers...like the z71's

any suggestions on where to get these oem style covers? or replacements???

I don't care for the chrome bumpers either... well actually I can tolerate the back, but its the front that irks me... the front has too much chrome in one place, with the grill being chrome also... I seen a post by a member named ferghoe(sp) he painted his chrome bumpers, the whole truck as a matter of fact... I would go that route, but the bumpers rusting would be a concern to me... its not a problem for him because he mentioned that he has access to a painting booth whenever he needs it....

The guy i have taken my truck to told me it is not a good idea to paint the chrome and he wouldn't do it...so i have been lookin for the stock Z71 bumpers (any color) to have painted to match the truck along with the grill.

you can look around for aftermarket replacement bumpers. I have a wholesaler I deal through and for a 03 silverado last week I paid $75 for a primed "paintable" front bumper. On mine I just scuffed the chrome and used etching primer, 5k miles so far and only minimal rock chips( it has been Dallas to amarillo 6 times now) the back one doesn't have one scratch Because it really doesn't see much road action. Its a personal preference
