sound like a bad brake booster. check the vacuum line that goes to it.

theres a fat rubber hose that goes from the intake area to the brake booster. see if it has become disconnected.

Add brake fluid, pump the brakes, add more brake fluid, pump the brakes, check levels.

yea, cause the adding brake fluid thing didnt work.

when i press the brakes, am i supposed to be able to see the brake fluid like move around as if air is blowing into it?

cause it did when i had my girl press the brake.

not necessarily. is pedal is hard at idle? if so, its one of 2 things, no vacuum to the brake booster, or the booster itself. with the car running , pull off the vacuum line going to the booster. there should be good vacuum on the it. if so, suspect a bad booster, and it will need to be changed.

My appologies, but when I bought my tahoe I had the same problem and even got a hard brake because the system did not have a drop of brake fluid in it. I bought a big bottle of advanced brake fluid DOT and pumped the brakes, added more fluid and pumped the brakes, they work fine now. I am sure there is a small leak somewhere in the sytem, but I have been driving the truck for 6 months now and it hasn't given me any more problems, it would cost me mega bucks for a mechanic to go thru and find the leak so I leave it alone, it works don't fix it deal.
