I know there's been a lot of threads on seat heaters, but I haven't seen any with just the bottom heaters. Some guys say the bottom heating elements have gone out, which makes sense. Mine BOTH went out at the same time (seat backs work fine). What are the chances both elements go out at the same time? My guess is this could be a computer reset issue?

switches light up
seat backs heat up
no bottom heat.

I would suspect wiring or a relay before the elements themselves. I actually have an issue with mine where the back of the driver seat works, and the entire passenger side work as long as they are on without the driver side being on. If I attempt to use the bottom heater on the driver seat at all, all seat heaters, lights, etc go out completely. I am guessing I may have a pinched or pulled wire somewhere or maybe a relay going bad. But honestly I haven't dug too deep into it at this point.

sorry for the late response, I've been traveling.

2005 Tahoe LT.

I'm reasonably sure, since both bottom heaters went out at the same time, that the element is good.

I found this TSB information for it. You may need to take it to the dealer and have them reprogram the seat heater function. I believe I may need to as well.
Bulletin No.: 05-08-50-008

Date: August 19, 2005

TECHNICAL

Subject:Intermittent Heated Seats Inoperative, DTC B3941 Set (Reprogram Driver Seat Module)

Models:2003-2005 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT2003-2005 Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe2003-2005 GMC Sierra, Yukon, Yukon XL, Yukon DenaliAll with Seat FRT, Individual (Non BKT) (RPO AN3)2003-2005 HUMMER H2 with Seat, Front Bucket Deluxe (RPO AR9)

Condition: Some customers may comment that occasionally the seat heater will not operate when activated. If the ignition key is cycled OFF and back ON again, the heated seat will operate correctly. Also, on some LB7 diesel engine vehicles, the seat heater may turn itself off during the first 10 minutes of operation. This occurs only with the first activation for the day and works correctly with subsequent activations immediately after the event. These conditions are intermiffent and DTC B3941 may be set.CorrectionTechnicians are to reprogram the driver seat module with an updated software calibration. This new service calibration was released with TIS satellite data update version 6.5 available June 13, 2005. As always, make sure your Tech 2(R) is updated with the latest software version.
