I just picked up my new tahoe. Its a "leftover" '07 but still new....
can anyone help me find out when it was built.... the only info i have is the vin.. i am wondering if the last part of the vin can approximate the month/day/shift of the build. any assembly plant employees out there??

Look at Federal ID tag inside L/F door frame or on center post. Manufacturers date should be there.

wow, your 07 is older than my o6 if i read the sticker right, mine said 09/06 im guessing september of 06 is when it was built, i bought it on october 12th, last year. this has been the best year ever, at least driving. :)

Another quick way to find out how long it sat on a lot is to look at the State Inspection Sticker (Texas). The units get insp once they hit the lot. When I bought my truck (Sierra), it only had 60miles on it, but the inspection was done 6mos prior.

nto all, thanks for replying....

the 12/06 date stated before is correct...

i managed to find someone at the arlington plant to check their system.

my tahoe was ordered 11/01/2006, released to build 11/17/2006, scheduled on 12/04/2006, built 12/5/2006, arrived at dealer 12/08/2006.

AND then it sat there until 10/10/2007 until i bought it.

i cant imagine why....

its a loaded '07 with the 3LT package stickered for $48,684, not a blemish anywhere... i got it for $40,500. i dont know if that is good or bad but i am a happy customer. oh well...

thanks for all the input...
