I have a 96 Tahoe and have looked through the dozens of posts about the blower and resistor but have not really found an answer. A couple of years ago I replaced the resistor and the fan switch. Earlier this year the fan would not come on at all or only on high which led me to think resistor as it bypasses the resistor on high (I think). Now it does not work at all. I checked the fuse and it is good and pulled the black and purple wires from the blower motor. With the fan switch on high I do not register voltage on either wire (I don't know which one is ground) so I suspect the blower motor is working.
Is there a good place to start on this? Do resistors only last a year or two? The first one lasted 15+ years. I'd kind of like to test it out rather than throw parts at it but I do not have a wiring diagram.
Any guidance is appreciated.
