I'm getting new rims soon(sticking with the 17" size) and the ones I'm looking at have 4.5 backspacing with -12 offset and are 9" wide. Whats the biggest I can go?? I'm looking at 285/70s but can I go bigger??My rig is a 04 z71 hoe.

I DID do the T-bar crank but I fit 33x12.5-17s without any rubbing in the front, the t-bar won't affect the rubbing against the frame or anything. You may have to trim a small bit of the plastic piece at the bottom of the bumper if you don't crank it.

I would just suggest doing it, it cost me $100 for the parts and the hour of labor. One thing I would suggest with the 12.5" wide tires is a spacer for the rear, they do rub back there with a lot of weight in the truck OR if I flex the suspension.
