I don't know how things are on your 96.. but my 99 and muddin.. turned out to be an expensive idea.. i've replaced 4 rear-ends, like 2 u-joints, and it needs a CV axel - every wiring harness underneath is packed with mud, and one night Muddy water got into the air intake tubing.. the truck backfired.. wouldn't crank for like 20 mins.. when it did it ran like crap.. - when it backfired on one side of the motor it completly closed the gap on the plugs, on the other, it opened them up fully

Bad shaking of engine.

I was driving down the highway and i heard a big boom, and the tahoe started to shake and i could only go 45 miles per hour. It smells like gas and oil mixing and burning and intake is not sucking right cuz it sounds like its trying to suck thru a straw.
