Hey guys. I'm in the market of purchasing new shocks but I do not know if my 2001 LT Tahoe has auto ride or if it's normal. How can I tell? Again, I have a 2001 LT Tahoe.

Go look at the front shocks, if they have sensors coming off them you have autoride. They also have the compressor that kicks on at startup and the rear shocks have airbag type ballasts integrated onto the shock body. There are ways around the autoride shocks too.

I've never heard a buzzing noise that I've noticed of?

I checked my front shock and don't see any wires/cables or anything running off of them. Only one I see even near the shock is at the top but it runs to the brakes.

Not to hijack a thread.

Some of you might know, if not, I lowered my suburban. I'm looking for a comfort riding shock, if there is one, can you help me out?

Keys and coils out back, right? Did you use the shock extensions? I'd buy the extensions if you haven't already, then pick up a set of bilstein 5100s front and back, they're fvckin awesome.

If I do go with the bilstiens, or a cheaper comparable shock, if i do not need the shock extenders, you're welcome to them. You should know though, they are on the truck.

You'll want the extensions because the 5100s only come in stock height, not dropped, so they would work best with the extension. I'm gonna buy some fronts soon but the rear is gonna be a bitch on mine, autoride ftmfl.

Just to make it easier. Tahoes that had auto ride. had Autoride, written below the LT badge.

Just pointing this out, because your hoe may have it and its not working.
