Hey guys just a quick question...For some reason here lately my Auto head lights (NOT my daylight running) have been acting up on my 99 Denali. They will sometimes come on even in the daytime (sunny) like if i pull into the car wash, or if i pull into the bank under the onning. But i have to manually turn them on when it gets dark. This seems very weird to me. SO i guess my question is what makes these work, is there a sensor or something along those lines that might be goin out i need to replace?!? it confuses me since they will kick on when its light out if i get under something, but dont come on when they should at night time!?!? thanks for any help!

Welcome to the neighborhood!

Yes, there is a light sensor that should be in the center of the dash. It sounds as if the sensor may be going bad.

You will have to disassemble the dash far enough to get under the dash pad to remove it for replacement.

I have a 95 Tahoe and I don't have running lights. is that an option or is it a bad sensor or fuse? i do see in the fuse box the space for the running lights, but the fuse is not there. I bought it in Feb of 2011 and never had to open the fuse box till last week. Ideas?

I meant DRL's.. sorry. Anyways, I found out how to tell. Fuse panel only has one connection for that fuse. Also, only one wire (brown) behind the emergency brake.
