Just recieved my street scene hitch cover and have some concerns.

I am trying to prefit it and I assume that you are suppose to stick a reciever pin through the hole in the cover after it passes out of the back of the hitch. Am I correct with this or am I missing something?

I have not put a pin in yet because the hole does not pass through the tunnel fully. It appears that I will be able to get the pin through and it will be flush with the back, but to do so I have to put all my wait on the back and have someone else pin it.

Does anyone else have this problem??? It will sit nice, tight, and flush if I push hard but I do not want to do this after it gets painted.

I don't have that issue because I have the Chevy accessories hitch cover and not the SS version. I think most other people on this forum have my version too (which is why nobody repsonded quickly).
All I know is that it slides into the opening of the receiver, and that their should be something to hold it firm in place, like you said, but I don't know anymore about this product.

Is it lining up correctly? When I got mine in and I test fit it prior to paint, it was offcenter to the left. My truck is currently in the body shop getting some mods done and that's getting painted while it's there but I just let them know they may have to modify it some to fit in there all the way. I'd say you could find a body shop to fit it in there right, my .02.

Well I am going to drop off a bunch of stuff at the shop. My friend is friends with the owner, but I was not planning on leaving the truck.

I looks great once it is pushed in hard, it is just teh the hole is not back far enough to pin. I will probably just drill it out better. I have an e-mail into SS now to see how they want to handle. Maybe they will just ship out another one.

OE is a fugly big box on the pack. Atleast the SS has some curve to it. I guess that is why you pay the extra bucks for a Denali or Escalade. :(

I dont think its ugly, its does have curves which fits well onto the bumper and atleast I'd come out to be cheaper because it doesn't need painting.

I have the SS cover and i had to really apply some force to get the pinn through the hole on the cover. The pin i bought was the same size as the hole in the cover, but the hole is off by a milimeter or two.
Also dont listen to some and get the OEM cover(The Box). I had it and the tabs broke off the second day i had it and it doesnt fit snug against the bumper. The SS cover is the best!!! Just requires a little work to get it on. Plus you have to paint it.
