Guys I posted earlier and got no answers but I did get some things cleared up....however it seems I have another problem!

First as stated in my other post, I was going to clean my left side "sensor" and it came out broken...and my ABS indication stayed on. Therefore after a few bucks I got a new sensor and put her in. Flashed up the Yuk, went up the driveway and the lights went out- happy camper  HOWEVER as I came to a stop..the ABS brake system now kicks-in on dry pavement (the thud-thud) then soft peddle.

QUESTION if anyone knows: Can only one side sensor be changed? Could the computor be reading a differance between a new and old sensor? As stated, the only thing I did was swap out the old one!

This is getting stupid :mad2:

You're going to have to have the ABS and truck hooked up to a scanner to show live data to determine which sensor is now giving you a problem.

Thanks, Sounds about all a guy can do at this point. Fix by replacement can be costly!

I'm the 3rd owner and not to sure "up" here in Canada it part of any recall. I'll have to check...At this time I wouldn't think GM is taking anyone on...(if ya know what I mean)

Thanks for your comments. Yup! Not me!!

UPDATE Fixed!

Thought it would be a good idea to let you guys know how the ABS problem was corrected.
(Sensors 8 years old) never changed. 2001 Yukon

#1 - ABS/Brake Fault discription:

ABS/Brake indication came on "intermintently" driving only - Would reset during restart until fault re-accured.

Inspected/clean front left Sensor as stated on line. Sensor broke during removal. ABS indication stayed on.

Replaced with new Sensor. (new fault)

#2 - ABS - Fault discription:

Premature ABS activation during stops after New Sensor put in.

Although no indication lights came on, I was receiving a false ABS activation during stops. The new sensor (of course) had less AC resistance then the old right side fooling the computor in thinking differant wheel speeds.

Fix: Another new sensor so both signal values are the same.

Suggestion: If you have problems as listed above and your sensors old..replace both... if cleaning won't correct problem. I was informed that 99% of times problems start with the sensors giving false readings to the computor. I was lucky however as I tried the "fix by replacement" rather then paying a shop 160.00 just to do checks.

Hope this "may" help someone else..PS Thanks for your comments!
