I have a 02 Tahoe w/o BOSE. I purchased a new head unit to replace the stock one that no longer works. i got the harness did all the wiring but I am not getting any sound from the speakers. is there something i have to do in order to make this work. The guy told me I would lose the door remote off option by removing the stock unit, which doesn't really matter to me anyways. also i got an Infinity self contained amp/sub unit to replace the crap rear sub. do i need to disconnect the factory sub to get the after market sub to work off the RCA jacks? any help would be greatly appreciated. I tried Googling but wasn't real successful in finding a detailed install guide. :confused2: oh just in case the questions is asked they gave me a SCOSCHE harness #BBGM02AB

Do you have onstar? If so, I haven't been able to succesfully put an aftermarket cd player in a tahoe with Onstar without purchasing that PAC os1 adapter. Maybe someone else will chime in that got it to work without the adapter. But I have tried it on 3 different Tahoes with Onstar and we needed this adapter to make the speakers play. The aftermarket stereos turned on but no sound came out of the speakers. The PAC OS1 adapter is around $100 at least. I think crutchfield gives it to you for half price if you buy a head unit from them.

As for your other question regarding the factory sub. You shouldn't have to disconnect the factory sub to play your new one through the RCA inputs in your aftermarket stereo.

You shouldn't have to disconnect the factory sub to get your new one working, but you're going to end up taking it out sooner or later because it will just interfere with the sound quality of your new sub.

so if i just disconnect the factory amp wiring that will help with the sound quality of my new unit? is the factory amp located in the same location as the sub? btw i got the unit installed and its working great. i also just upgraded all my 6.5's with Infinity's and it sounds sweet but the sub does sound a little blah. and the guy that sold me the harness was wrong in telling me that i would loose my auto off when opening the door, as that feature still works.

There is a pink wire on the factory secondary slave harness that needs to be connected to the turn-on wire from your aftermarket deck. Try that and see if that helps if you haven't already solved the problem.
