ANOTHER strange noise

This time I get a groan/moan when I turn the wheel either left or right sharply at low speeds like turning into my driveway. seems like its coming from the front right and I notice that when I give the truck gas it pulls left but ONLY when Im on the accelerator. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Sounds like you should stand on it every time you take a corner, then all you will hear is the engine.

mine does that, its the power steering maxed out i always thought. never had an issue, did it since day one.

I was thinking power steering also but the wheels dont have to be locked for it to happen. Its louder than the normal powersteering moan..

may have low fluid. i would give that a check.

Mine does that when i'm at full lock, but it sounds like what your experiencing may be your power steering pump on its last legs.

road1 im thinking the same thing because its only at low speeds and it dosent have to be at full lock. thanks!

More info. I realized it only makes the noise in drive never reverse and it also decreases with vehicle speed. almost as if something was rubbing..

My '00 Tahoe (5.3L) was doing the same thing. Checked the fluid, and the dealer overfilled it when they did some work on it.

I corrected it to the right lever (cold reading), and added about 1/3 - 1/2 bottle of Lucas P/S additive while I retopped it off, and the noise has gone away.

Hmmm.. I did notice that it was well above full. I removed some of the fluid but seems as if It got worse.. Im gonna try the lucas tomorrow. Also I may need a new belt. I can feel what I think is slipping through the steering wheel..

NEWS FLASH! This DIDNT work.. I added lucas and the noise is still there. Im gonna dive it a day or so to see what happens and then off to the Stealer for service. This truck just turned 55k and it has had all kind of issues. This noise, pulling to the left, and a leaking sunroof.. ARGH!!!!
