So I am keeping my 2007 tahoe instead of trading in for an 08. First thing Im gonna do is install rims and navigation. I like the look of the factory nav but i hear that for the money I can get something with more features. I am looking for something around 1000 dollars that is touchscreen and that will look real clean in my dash. Also something that has a good amount of features. Is it true that there are aftermarket systems that offer more features for less money than the Factory Nav system. Also how much will someone charge me to install my system. Thanks guys.

I personally have the AVIC D3 in my 07 Tahoe. I love it....it's sleek and fun to always toy around with. I would take pics of it for you but I'm in Iraq right now so it might have to be when I get back unless someone can get pics for you.

Nice! THats sweet! Is Pioneer the only company who offers Nav systems with these kinds of features or does Kenwood offer a system similar to this too? How easy is all of that stuff to use and how well does it work? Any problems? Thanks for the help guys

i am running a Kenwood DNX5120 in my Yukon, and the nav has been the best, because it uses Garmin. The audio features are not as good as the Pioneer Avic D3, but the Ipod function is slightly better than the Avic. I have an Avic D3 in my 08 Maxima, and it sounds far better than the Kenwood, but the Nav is horrible.. If Nav is critical, don't buy Pioneer, if sound is critical, don't buy Kenwood, IMO.

omar, I have a factory bose system will the nav unit I chose really effect my sound output that much? I mean unless I had an upgraded system I dont see how the Nav unit can effect sound output. And to Tdahew, is the one you have the latest technology for Pioneer? I see that the DNX 8120 is slightly better technically speaking but does it offer the same cool features such as weather updates, movie times, gas prices etc. I looked on Kenwoods website and I didnt see anything about it, and that is a pretty cool feature that I might like.

My buddys cousin owns a custom shop and he said he would get me the DNX8120 and install it for 1300 dollars everything included. He said I would need some connectors that cost 100 dollars because I have the bose system but all costs included, gps, navigation, these connectors and install he would charge me 1300. Is this a good deal? And do I really need these connectors?

price is average. I would imagine that wholesale price is $700-$800 on it, and it would take about 2 hours to install.

Does anyone know if the Kenwood DNX 8120 offers the same cool features such as weather up dates, gas prices, traffic updates from MSN direct, as the Pioneer Navigation systems do?
