My 2013 Tahoe has had a shudder and vibration at idle since new. I have had it into the dealership more times than I can count and every time I get the same response. I’m told it’s normal and that some of these engines have a slight vibration at idle. I was also given a SB stating that this condition is normal. It has been bugging me for over a year now. It’s clearly caused by the low idle setting on the engine (475-500 RPM). If I hold the brake and bump the idle up to 600 RPM the shudder goes away. Has anyone adjusted their engine idle on a newer model Tahoe? I asked the dealership to do it and they told me that they are not supposed to do it. Something about computer settings and ratios blah, blah, blah dealer speak.

I know it’s possible to do it, I’m just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and fixed it?

My 2013 with 5,000 mi does this also; has since new. It's very annoying especially since I was driving Ford F250 SuperDuty diesel that was smoother. Didn't expect this. Increasing the idle will probably reduce mpg...

I bought mine new and just passed the one year mark (12K miles). I've had it in to the dealership 4 or 5 times for the idle issue. They've checked the motor mounts and ran several diagnostic checks. I've been told that it's normal and was even given a GM Service Bulletin describing the issue as normal. I still don't accept this as normal. I've had several passengers in the truck notice it as well. If this is Chevy's idea of normal, this will be the last Chevy I own. It's disappointing mainly because I really do love the ride and comfort. The LTZ has all the bells and whistles and it's perfect for my family. Plus, I think it's a damn good looking ride. However, I can't seem to get past this issue. I spent too much $$ on this vehicle for this type of problem.

I think that if the idle was increased to 600 RPM the shudder would go away or at least be less noticeable.

I just started looking for posts with similar issues regarding this engine vibration/shuttering. I bought a brand new 2013 Tahoe, and the same problem started about 6-9 months ago. I guess all of the dealers have been informed to say "this is normal". I just sold an 11 year old car that ran smoother than this, and the engine shutter gets stronger in stop-and-go traffic. Can't believe this issue comes standard with a brand new $50K truck, and I'm very disappointed. Does anyone have a solution? I've seen many complaints on this issue, but no solutions yet.
