I've read a few posts about people doing this, but they seem to be more focused on the 2000+ models (which either have or don't have the brackets..that seems to be up for debate).

Anyway, I have already looked at http://www.littlepassengerseats.com/

and, while I love the idea of getting matching leather - $1200 is a bit much!

First question is: How compatible are the Suburban 3rd row seats?

Second is: are the later model (2000+) third rows compatible at all? (I like how they're lighter and have built-in shoulder straps.

Third: is their not an aftermarket bracket-kit available?

Thank you for any help!

A while ago I checked into 3rd row seating for the 1996 Tahoe. I found this place http://www.kustomfit.com/. The price estimate I had was less than $500 for vinyl but was made 3 years ago.

ok so you can kit the brackets at theseatshop.com also watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sAa0z_5V3bs this youtube video for example. I would suggest running with the 96-99 suburban seat the reason is they will match your interior better. I would also suggest going to your local junkyard and pulling the seat from a wrecked suburban. usually the seats are in really good condition since most people dont use the last seat as often as the center and front seats. it seems like a cool upgrade. Good luck with whatever you decide to do...
