I am planning on buying a Tahoe in August. Does anyone know if will be able to get away with buying an 08 (prices will be much better since they will have to 09s in stock, I did this with my last car and got a great deal) and adding the GM bluetooth kit? I want it to stay factory.

With the new law going into effect, this is important to me.

Thanks

There's no clear information on how it will be featured, especially in regards to it possibly being like a module that can just be plugged in on models (like '07-08) without. I'd venture to say it won't be, as I believe it's the Onstar system itself that is different (i.e. next version) to incorporate the Bluetooth.

No one knows the specifics of how the GM Bluetooth will work on various models, and it will take some time even after the '09s are out to see.

That said, there are quality kits available such as from Scosche (like the new BlueFusion) that very cleanly and effectively incorporate Bluetooth into the factory system and would be GREAT to add onto, theoretically, the '08 you get a great deal on:

I wouldn't, therefore, expect a "GM kit" or even a plug-in part, depending on how the new Bluetooth works, but items such as the very high quality Scosche one above should be ideal for models without.
