I have a 99 gmc yukon. The compressor had failed and I had it replaced with a new murray compressor. In a few hours it started making a growling sound at low rpm through rev of motor. The vehicle has a compressor switch and in the off position the sound goes away, fan at the same speed. Had them put another compressor on and it makes the same sound. Sound is heard the best inside the vehicle with blower on low.

Its a growl. The O/T and Dryer replaced each time. New hoses. Lines flushed.
