A sign of low refrigerant is the compressor clutch turning off and on. When you added freon, did you use a gauge? If you don't have a gauge, I highly recommend you get one. You can usually get one at Wal-Mart with a can of r134a for $20 to $30. You should never add freon to an AC system without a gauge. If you over-fill it you run a very high risk of destroying the compressor.

Lol, ok. I wasn't sure what you were trying to say.:D

I don't like driving my Tahoe with the windows down at highway speeds if I'm by myself. The passenger seat belt flaps in the wind and makes an unbearable flapping noise. Sometimes it does that even if someone is using that seatbelt.

hook a guage up to it. if the compressor isn't running you'll have to jump the sensors to get it to accept the charge. (thats how mine was anyway. high side was empty, one of the seals is toast...)

Also check the compressor itself. Looks like GM's infamous AC compressor is nicknamed the "belly leaker". It's a 3 piece body that will leak eventually. It can be rebuilt... or replaced w/ a 1 piece body compressor (Sanden HT6... which also happens to be cheaper AND made in USA).

I changed my filter, drier, almost all the lines and O rings... thinking I must have fixed the slow leak in my AC system. When I took it to get it evacuated and charged, the mech told me the oem compressor is usually the common culprit. I told him that so far mine hasn't leaked and there and is fine. (dammit). Sure enough, 2 weeks later, the belly of the oem compressor is green w/ dye. Anyway, I just recieved my new Sanden in the mail yesterday, and look forward to installing it soon. Hope this is it!
